Enrolled Agent exam study plan
Plan roughly 60 to 100 hours per part, take the parts in an order that suits your background, and pass all three within the two-year window. Many candidates start with Part 1 (Individuals) because it builds a base for the others.
Which part first?
Part 1 (Individuals) is the common starting point. If you work in business tax, Part 2 may feel easier first. Part 3 is shorter in content but rule heavy.
A simple plan
Weeks 1–6: one part, topic by topic with questions.
Weeks 7–8: mocks and weak-topic review.
Then schedule the exam and move to the next part.
Tips
Know the forms and schedules. Practise reading the question for what is asked.
