About HiPrep: our story and approach

HiPrep helps candidates around the world pass the CPA (US), CMA (US) and EA exams by showing how every answer is built, in the language they think in, with a mentor behind the platform.

Haresh Ratnagrahi spent three decades in corporate finance, then moved into teaching and trained thousands of finance professionals. He noticed that candidates could recognise a right answer but could not always explain how it was built. Therefore, HiPrep starts from understanding: every answer is shown step by step, cell by cell. Moreover, concepts are explained in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

We believe in four ideas: understand rather than memorise, learn in your language, practise like the real exam, and keep a human behind the platform. HiPrep is independent and is not affiliated with the AICPA, NASBA, the IMA, the IRS or Prometric; however, those bodies set the exam rules, so always confirm eligibility and fees with them.

Frequently asked questions

Which should I pick: CPA, CMA or EA?

CPA suits audit, reporting and global accounting careers. CMA suits management accounting, FP&A and finance leadership. EA suits US tax and IRS representation, and is the quickest to complete. Our counsellors will map one to your background and goals for free.

Can I take these exams from outside the US?

Yes. The CPA, CMA and EA exams are available at Prometric test centres in many countries, including India, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. Eligibility and registration run through the relevant body: a US state board for CPA, IMA for CMA and the IRS for EA.

Do I need a commerce degree?

It depends on the exam. CPA requires a degree plus accounting and business credit hours, which vary by state. CMA requires a bachelor’s degree plus experience. EA has no degree requirement. Book a free eligibility check and we will tell you exactly where you stand.

What are the passing scores?

CPA: 75 on a 0–99 scale. CMA: 360 on a 0–500 scale. EA: 105 on a 40–130 scale. All are scaled scores, not percentages.

How long does each take?

It varies with your background and weekly hours. Many candidates take around 6–12 months for CPA, 6–9 months for CMA and 3–6 months for EA. Your study plan sets a realistic date from your diagnostic.
